Terms, Conditions & Privacy
Important Info:
Laundry Service
In our standard laundry service, garments are washed at 30 degrees with Ariel Professional detergent and Lenor softener, then tumble dried on a cool setting. Items not suited to these settings are processed at the customer’s risk. Please separate any items you are concerned about and ask our staff for guidance.
Wet Cleaning
Wet cleaning is a water based garment cleaning process which offers many benefits, but there are some inherent risks such as shrinkage, colour run/loss, and can affect adhesives used in fabric manufacture. Wet cleaning is also less effective than dry cleaning on some marks and stains including oil and grease.
Curtain Cleaning
We will clean in strict accordance with cleaning instructions attached to your items, but please note that damage often occurs due to incorrect care instructions, material or manufacturing defects or other issues such as damp/sun “rot” caused by prolonged exposure to the sun. Curtains with vinyl or “blackout” linings may blister, peel or disintegrate during cleaning, which may only be apparent after cleaning. If cleaning instructions are not present or available, we require your approval to proceed with cleaning and you will indemnify us against any damage or loss resulting from cleaning.
Leather & Suede Cleaning
Leather & suede garments are often made of a number of different skins or panels that may respond differently to cleaning, which may lead to shrinkage, wrinkles, change in texture or other physical changes. There may also be colour loss or run, which may not be restorable. Imperfections may become more obvious or worsen with cleaning. It’s not always possible to remove stains from leather and suede items. Decorative trims may be affected or damaged in cleaning, despite all care being taken to avoid it.
Wedding Dress Cleaning
Wedding dresses are carefully cleaned in accordance with care label instructions, where available. When instructions are unclear or unavailable, we will discuss our cleaning methods with you and may ask for your permission to proceed at your own risk, indemnifying us for any resulting loss or damage to the dress. We therefore suggest contacting your dressmaker or retailer for cleaning instructions in advance.
In spite of the gentle pre-treatment and cleaning process used, it may not be possible to make your dress 100% clean. Age, storage conditions, nature of the marks and fabrics used will influence the cleaning process and affect the results. Beads, trims and other decorative parts are occasionally loosened by the process and can fall off. Cleaning can also highlight marks or damage not noticeable prior to cleaning.
Full Terms & Conditions:
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS We clean in accordance with care label instructions. In their absence, we will
discuss with you the methods best suited to the nature and condition of each article before proceeding. Your
signature may be required to confirm you accept associated risks.
STAIN REMOVAL It is not always possible to remove stains. Stain removal is more difficult if any non
professional techniques have previously been applied such as the use of water or other products. We treat
problematic stains with caution but occasionally need to use harsher techniques and chemicals. Some stain
removal can only be done at the customer’s own risk. We cannot guarantee cleaning results.
LIMITATIONS Despite efforts to identify potential problems with garments, we cannot assume responsibility
for weaknesses or defects in materials, manufacturing or care label instructions that are not apparent before
cleaning. We are not responsible for eg. sun fading, colour loss due to non-fastness, wear & tear or shrinkage.
SUEDE & LEATHER Suede & leather garments frequently have inherent weaknesses or defects in the
material due to natural inconsistencies and flaws. We cannot take responsibility for colour loss or shrinkage
caused by cleaning.
LOSS AND DAMAGE In the event of loss, damage or quantity discrepancies, please inform us within 48 hours
of receiving your items. We are not responsible for loss if delivered to an unattended location. We will
investigate complaints promptly and if it is proved that we are at fault we offer fair compensation based on
the value, age and condition of affected items when they came into our care. If it cannot be agreed who is
responsible for the damage we can arrange for independent analysis by a fabric care research laboratory.
Restitution will be made based upon their report. In the event of our liability for total loss (unless stated on
delivery to us that the item is part of a set (eg. a suit) or valued over £100) we will pay the depreciated fair
value of that garment as set out by the Textile Services Association.
COLLECTION & DELIVERY We may require a signature on collection or delivery. Queries or complaints must
be raised within 48 hours. We reserve the right to decline collection or delivery if we cannot access
customers’ address, or it is above the 3rd floor unless an operating lift is available. Quoted times/dates are
estimates and may vary, and do not form a contract.
PAYMENT Collection & delivery customers must pay in advance of return by cash, credit/debit card or bank
transfer. We reserve the right not to collect or deliver any items until payment has been received. Counter
customers must either pay before or on collection by cash, credit/debit card or bank transfer.
PRICING & TERMS Prices include VAT at 20%. We reserve the right to alter prices and makes changes to our
terms at any time.
DISPOSAL Uncollected items may be disposed of after 90 days. No liability will be accepted for any
consequential loss arising from our services.
